asp.net - HTTP Error 404 when trying to browse aspx -

i trying browse aspx pages part of mvc application. have tried usual steps such installing asp.net using aspnet_regiis.exe -i -enable no avail.

weird things working fine in development environment failing in our uat environment. same machine/environment far can see. difference can see when @ contents view in iis folder holding aspx pages, on dev type of files says asp.net server page whereas on uat says aspx file. else seems same on both machines.

server details: windows server 2008r2 standard service pack 1
